Does music really sooth plants and help them grow?

and if so would it work for watermelon plants?

Does music really sooth plants and help them grow?
No. Although some plants can respond to touch (thigmotropism) no plant has developed any kind of sensory cells to pressure waves in the air. Therefore any kind of sound, or music will fall on deaf ears sort of speak. So you can play Mozart, Motley Crew, or absolutely nothing and your watermelons will grow the absolute same.
Reply:I know a lot of people who own greenhouse and play music everyday in them. Soothing type music has been known to actually stimulate plant growth . I hear classical or easy listening music is very soothing to plants and animals alike. I kinda wish my parents stimulated my growth with soothing music. I,m only 5'5" so they musta been rock and rollers.
Reply:No,and you'd be arrested and sent to an asylum.Talking to them close up does help,as the carbon monoxide you expel when you breath helps the plant to grow. They do the reverse of humans breathing, but brush your teeth first.Bit ambitious a water melon
Reply:not for watermelon plants it would cause the water melon to devolop a unusual shape
