How many bedding plants should I plant a 14" hanging basket with?

And how many plants would you reccommend for a 1 m window box?

Really depends on what type of plants you intend to use.
Reply:It depends on what plants you want to plant. If you wanted say a fushia or large begonia in the middle you could then plant say six trailing lobelia of contrasting colour around the outer edge with dichondra' silver falls' a trailing silverygreen plant, sweetpeas, and petunias interspersed. So long as you can get your fingers in to poke the plants in it doesn't matter how many. The more you plant the bigger the profusion.

However, you must water well each week, and in the height of summer daily, and feed once a week.

Good luck.
Reply:Less,if you want them to grow and fill the space. If your in a hurry as many as you can fit,but compensate for lack of growing room with regular feeding to keep them happy
Reply:6-8 plug plants for the basket...preferably trailing plants like petunia`s and lobelia.

For the 1m box about 10-12 plugs. You can never have enough okay as long as you feed them regular ...
Reply:i would put approx 6/7 plants in the hanging basket, maybe one or two long trailing ones! plant up when plants are small its much easier, they will grow quite quickly, also put water retaining chrystals in with a good quality compost to stop them drying out, also baskets benefit from a feed.

with the window box if it is bedding plants use approx 12 medium sized plants, these should spread and fill it nicely!

p.s i alwaus put all my plants in the top of my hanging baskets, some people put them on the sides, but if you use good plants they should cover the basket!
