http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/Plants.html... check out that site for the plants if you want to go with real ones, because the goldfish will generally eat any other ones. As far as a castle goes, you have to be careful because goldfish do get quite big and you don't want to get something really small only to have the fish get stuck in it a little ways down the road.

Goldfish generally do best in groups of three or more, but can be just fine by themselves. Whether or not you get him a buddy depends on the size aquarium that you have. the aquarium size of course depends on the type of goldfish that it is, if it's a fancy then it needs 10-15 gallons for the first fish and 10 gallons for every extra one after that. if it is a comet or "feeder" type then they can grow up to a foot long and need around 50 gallons for the first fish.

Reply:I recommend live plants.

For example-

Anubias

Java Moss

Onion Plant

Amazon Sword

Java Fern

Reply:Instead of sitting on the internet all night asking questions about plants and getting buddies for your fish -- I would focus my efforts on getting to a 24 hour Walmart ASAP to buy your fish a proper tank and filter. The thing will be dead by morning if you leave it in a pitcher overnight. GO! NOW! Castles can wait for tomorrow.
Reply:Hi There!

You shoudl really read up on fish before you buy them other wise, it was a waste of life and your time, Goldfish are okay when left alone but they should have some campoany.... You can use ffake plants just make sure you qwash them in hot water before aplling them into the tank as well as rocks... you can get glass rocks or just regular rocks, I would concider getting an algue eater as then you won't have to clean the tank as often and they are compatible with gold fish... also you can get drops for your tank that help kill the bad chemicals in the water and keep the ones that your fish needs it also provides vitinams for your fish... Hope you have fun with your new "fishies"

hope that helped!

Reply:goldfish will eat real plants so i suggest fake plants and what size is the tank?u can get another goldfish depending on the size
Reply:If your tank is in a 10 G the max you can have is 2(sorry, I had to learn this from experience). If you have a small tank, upgrade t0 a 10G and get the buddy! I use silk plants in my 10G ACF\Single calico fantail goldfish tank. I plan to get a 16G bow-front, and put in new silk plants (as these were just bleached cleaned then given to me......BUT I am also gonna plant with Anuabias, sag, easy plants that grow so fast that they cant eat and ones so hardy they cant tear up! Im gonna use natural gravel in the 16(have sand in the 10G), and Im gonna get a realistic looking shipwreck and an airpump to connect to it making it look MORE realistic ;P...hope your fishh tank does well!
