How should I display plants in a nursery?

What is the best and least expensive way to display potted plants and pottery in a nursery? The nursery has metal tables outside lined up right now but that seems so formal and rigid. I'm trying to warm it up and make it more appealing. Any suggestions?

You didn't specify what sort of plants you're selling.

However, one thing I've seen work quite effectively is the use of a huge speciman of a given plant surrounded by smaller ones. I think this is particularly effective when selling tropical plants or flowers.

I've noticed in my own gardens that folks rarely notice the unusual stuff. They really notice the stuff that is common, or what they have, but go ape over BIG size.:-)
Reply:Can the tables be spraypainted some bright colors and is there any way of getting plastic or metal milk cases they generaly can go in different heights by stacking them-they can also be spraypainted in great colors and then go crazy!-you could also get clay pots in different sizes you can also paint them too-they are especially fun if you spray paint them then get a old tooth brush and spatter them with a different color paint now go out there and have some FUN!
Reply:Large color "bursts" also get attention-- group a lot of blue or red together with white plants etc for more of a visual effect
