How long do I have to wait before replanting jalapeno plants into a bigger pot? how long should they be before

how long should the plants be before I can transplant them? I planted jalapeno seeds into to small pots, not realizing that all the seeds were going to sprout. Now I have like 20-30 plants in each pot coming out. I would like to replant them into a plant box for my porch, also how far apart should I spread them?

18 " is good . Separate in the cool of the evening and transplant. Some may die. Plant and water. keep in shade until you see growth.
Reply:Hi:

I have grown Jalapeno and many ornamental plants from seeds. This can be a common problem. The main thing is you want each plug's root system to be established before you put them in a plant box. When transplanting your plugs, you will want to make sure not to damage the root system. I will link you to the learning center section of my website. There is a page on plugs with pictures. Even though this may not be the same type of pot you used, it will show you the correct steps in transplanting plugs.

When putting Jalapeno plants in the planter box, you should space them at least 10 inches apart. You want them to have room to reach their full maturity. I will link you to the site map of my website. There are many articles, tips, and techniques that you might be able to use. Good luck to you and I hope you enjoy your Jalapenos. Have a great day!
