Can any one help me with my plants?

I have taken up a new hobby since I have become disabled. I need advice on each plant. I have 2 tomato plants a mango, lucky bamboo, korean bamboo, and a hybris. I live in an apartment and have this huge window in my living room that gets great sun. Can I have advice on how to keep these babies going? My tomatoes are barely making it!

Can any one help me with my plants?
tomato plants seem really fussy, I don't bother with them myself. but if you have the knack, of course nothing beats fresh off the vine tomatoes!

I have planted and grown indoors: lemon, grapefruit, avocado and sweet potato (it's a big pretty vine). I also ate a guava a while back and planted the seeds - all twelve sprouted! I gave away a few, but my window is full of little guava trees.

I keep trying lychee seeds and Phasylis (sp? some sort of tropical ground cherry) but no luck with them.

I also planted seeds of Ceiba pentandra (Kapok Tree) and one sprouted. THEN I found out what it was - one of the tallest trees in the Amazon! It is a well behaved little plant, three years old now, growing slowly, but man I feel guilty for giving it such a limited existence in my little suite...

In winter, when my heating system is on, I make sure the plants aren't in the blast of warm air, and put some little dishes of water around them to keep up jungle-like humidity. good luck!
Reply:A pot plant doesn't need much water because it will get root rot.
Reply:Depending on the variety of tomatoes they most likely aren't doing so hot because of the container. Most do better in the ground. The bamboos just keep watered. Try miracle gro for tomatoes, mango and hybris every 7 days, follow the directions but add a little more until the water is pretty blue. Try putting them in the sun for as long as possible each day. Don't over water, keep moist but not soaked.
Reply:keep them in the sun and water them good you could also go to a plant specialist

Reply:My dear,

The fact is/the reality is that there are just some plants that are meant for outdoor growing and others that are meant for indoor growing.

I think you are placing yourself in a situation that is asking for too much work and even so..no success.

Try again, with selecting plants that are 'indoor' plants. There are so many and they will give you the pleasures you are seeking and deserve. G-d Bless.

Reply:have u done everything to do with a plant
Reply:I do think the tomatoes should be outside. They need as much sun as possible.
Reply:Most fruits and vegetables need tons of sun. I doubt your windows can provide what the outdoors gives them.

Why not try your hand at orchids? There is competition in growing them. You could even enter your best in local garden shows. Another growing project I've always been interested in is bonsai trees. Lots of books and dvd's on this subject. They are such interesting plants. Doesn't look too hard to me but it does look relaxing don't you think?
