What are the best plants to keep in the home that stay alive the easiest?

I don't have a green thumb - so I need some easy-to-keep-alive plants for my home (anything other than bamboo).

Try Mother-in-law's tongue. That plant is indestructible and doesn't need as much light as other house plants.
Reply:I like what is called the "airplane plant". Also any plant that does not need much water or care. Bamboo is a good one.
Reply:almost any of the ivy type plants...try some grape ivy..
Reply:Philodendron . It is the only thing I can grow /.you can grow it in water or in soil. Water is the easiest.

I*m so bad at raising anything I*ve always told my kids they don*t know how lucky they are they made it to adulthood.
Reply:I have seen "air plants" that really need nothing. My mom had one and watered it.... it died. Apparently it really gets the water from the air! This is a foolproof plant, as long as you don't water it LOL.
