Why when I planted my 12 in. tomatoe plants in ground & others in pots do the ground ones leaves look curly?

I planted 5 cherry tomatoe plants in the ground and 3 of the same in planter pots. The 3 in pots look perky and fresh and the 5 in the ground, the leaves look healthy but are curling downward. Whats that mean? The ground is freshly tilled and fertilized with professional garden soil, and the soil is moderately damp and I also had to add phosphorus to bring levels up for good fruiting.

The cherry tomatoe plants which are in planters are probably more sheltered from things like wind, sun and rain. Mine did the same thing when I put them in the ground and they perked back up in about a week. The soil and weather are probably making them different from the potted ones. Just keep an eye on them and don't overwater them. Good Luck!!!
Reply:They need more water.
Reply:It is probably disease. this can be caused by too much watering or watering being done and the water is hitting or touching the leaves. There are not to many methods of control because the fruit is to be consumed and your safety is a concern. Check your local garden center there are some products that is sprayed on apple trees etc. that may help
Reply:If you just put them in the ground I would guess that it is just a little transplant shock. Give them a few days before you worry too much. Mine always make me worry a day or two at first but then generally bounce back quite well.
