Can you plant plants in straight chicken manure?

we have a raised planter box and were thinking that we would fill it up with chicken manure and plant plants directly in it. Is this the right approach or do we need to mix it with dirt?

Can you plant plants in straight chicken manure?
"Green" or fresh manures are seldom used in the garden as they will be too acidic or alkaline (as in the case of birds). Most are composted for a year prior to use.
Reply:chicken manure is whats called HOT. If it isn't allowed to compost to some extent it will more than likely kill your plants. If composted and mixed with soil its excellent
Reply:No it would burn the roots and they would not grow.
Reply:mix it or you will burn them up, cept tomatos, those thing grow anywhere. I do a third compost, a third cow manure and a third potting soil. And my garden grows!

Reason for cow manure - they don't eat meat, pure organic black gold!.
