What are some compatible live aquarium plants for Goldfish?

I am planning out a "natural" tank for my three goldies (2 calico Ryukins, and 1 red and white Ryukin) It's a 20 gallon (long) tank. I want natural looking substrate, live plants, and real rocks and wood. Other than the compatible plants- do you guys have any ideas for what I can plan my tank out like?

It is really hard to keep plants with Goldfish because Goldfish love to redecorate and eat plants. For this reason, you will want plants that attach to driftwood, or have thick, leathery leaves. Anubias use a rhizome to attach to driftwood or rock, and their leaves are highly distasteful (supposedly) with Goldfish. Java Fern and Java Moss also use rhizmoes to attach to rocks and driftwood, and have a foul taste as well, so those 3 plants are Goldfish-safe. Onion Plants are hit or miss with Goldfish. Some Goldfish dislodge them, others will not, but either way, they will not eat them.

Consider a natural pond look with natural pebbles, vertical and horizontal driftwood, and interesting rock formations. These features will make it appear more natural and attractive than brightly colored gravel will. Contact me if you have any questions.
