I live in Maryland and am planning on using a plot of ground that gets partial sun. I would like to use reasonable plants and ones that don't require a lot of maintenance but don't know which ones to use!
What kind of plants should I use?
contact your local garden center . they can give you many ideas . use native plants and a good mulch to keep down the weeds . native plants will not need as much water , and will not need as much maintenance !
Reply:Ivy

Reply:pansies, petunias, snap dragons, daffodils, hyacinths etc......
Reply:Peonys have nice big flowers and can be very fragrant depending on the color. They require almost no maintenace and help to deter ants from other plants. The ants are required to eat off the sugary sticky seal on the buds so that the blooms open. The grow to be like a bush and fill up a nice area.
Bleeding hearts are also a nice smaller bush like plant. I say bush only because they can grow to be quiet full. And they can have little flowers in the shape of hearts ranging from white to pink and purple. This is also a perrenial.
Echinacea or purple cone flowers are nice and are a perrenial. They also produce seeds and can be reseeded for the next year. Snow in the mountain (or on the mountain) is a nice leafy plant that is good to take up ground cover and the leaves are light green with white stripes or lines in them. They are great to use for filler.
These are just some ideas and good luck to you!
