How to protect my plants from the squirrel?

I keep my plants on the balcony, because they need sunlight, but this squirrel come every day and bites their roots, and then she falls asleep on the pots. I tried to spray everything with pepper water, but she seems dont care.

How to protect my plants from the squirrel?
Sprinkle Cayenne Red Pepper around your potted plants directly on top of the soil. Your Pepper/water attempt won't work, but this will. It will stick to the squirrels feet and they will lick it off and they will TAKE OFF........lol

You can buy Cayenne Red Pepper in a small shaker container in any grocery store or food market. I have used this method myself and it works.I will not harm your plants at all................
Reply:drop some peanuts below your balcony a few days per week, the squirrel will go for the easy meal and should leave your roots alone.
Reply:Get a dog... a small one considering you live in a small space but a dog... squirrel will be gone... dog will be a pain though.
Reply:You can purchase these thin nets that you can cover your plants with and the squirells cant get to them...I have them on my fig trees so the birds dont eat them..it helps alot..you can get it at a garden store..just ask for some netting to cover plants...also, secure the nets very tight around the edges and bottom, so they dont crawl under! good luck
