I am buying a 3rd story apartment style condo and my living room window is on the east. I also have my deck that I hope to put nice planters on. So far I have a pink spotted, yellow spotted and a prayer plant.
As I have no furniture and no TV. My plans are to buy a simple futon and decorate in the room with plants and shelves of books possibly. Any other suggestions? I have no real use for a TV and don't need one.
What are the best indoor plants in your opinion?
Ok been here before. Mother in laws tongue. It's a spiky plant but not sharp. They are normally about 3 feet tall. Which is good if you have almost no furniture. And they thrive on neglect. Philodendrons are pretty easy to care for and dint die to easy. They are also good for putting on shelves cause they are a hanging vine plant. Aloe Vera does well inside and if you burn yourself then you have ready to go treatment right there. Lucky bamboo actually does great in the house because it doesn't like that much light. Just put it in a vase with some water and forget about it. Ivy is good too. But remember ivy's to best if you let them almost bone dry before watering them. Spider plants do great by windows and get very full. These are plants I have in my home that do well. I don't always get a lot of light and I forget to water them a lot. I hope some of these work out for you.
Reply:Ferns.
Reply:Bonzi plant... they need attention, and are hard as hell to grow... it's a very fun challenge
Reply:Peace lilies

Reply:Daylilies. They are very easy to take care of.
Reply:Pothos. They don't need a lot of light and are really hard to kill. (I've tried!)
Reply:hi..my green thumb is moldy, but I do know that spider plants are very hardy, adapt to any conditions extremely well, and can live with out watering for weeks...lol. Seriously...they are great plants, either hanging or in pots. I have also had good luck with colius, theyre hardy ( indoors or out during the summer )and come in a variety of colors to suit your decor. Good luck and enjoy!
